Sr. Director/Director of Provider Solutions - Oncology
Position Location: Newton, MA
Summary of Position
The Sr. Director/Director of Provider Solutions - Oncology plays a key commercialization role, driving adoption of the Company’s lead product: Proventys CDS Oncology powered by NCCN. Reporting to the SVP of Commercial Operations, the Sr. Director/Director will help create and execute an overall go-to-market and product sales plan for Proventys, and lead relationship-building and selling efforts nationally (or in specific regions). The Sr. Director/Director will work closely with Marketing, Client Services and the Payer Solutions teams at Proventys to understand the needs of oncology practices, offer our products and services, and generate continuous customer feedback to for ongoing product improvement.
The Sr. Director/Director should be an experienced sales or strategic accounts professional with a proven track record in the community oncology market. The individual should be a creative, self-starter who works well with teams and enjoys managing client relationships. (S)He should be extremely well organized and able to drive new business in a complex selling environment. The individual should also have experience working side-by-side with co-marketing partners and help optimize partner relationships. Key metrics for the success of this position include new customer acquisition, product sales, speed of customer adoption, sales team building and management, and overall customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Go-to-Market Strategy
- In collaboration with members of the Commercial Operations Team covering Marketing, Provider Solutions, Payer Solutions and Client Services, develop and execute a go-to-market plan for Proventys CDS Oncology.
- Understand and help define oncology market needs, customer segments and priorities, the Proventys product and service offering, sales goals, and selling strategies and tactics.
- Manage an overall market geography and specific regional priorities for the Company.
- Work closely with Marketing to develop product collateral, promotional programs, and other outreach initiatives to educate customers and engage them.
- Work in close collaboration with the head of Payer Solutions to execute the Company’s payer-provider “push-pull” strategy that will allow practices to capture enhanced reimbursement from payers for the use of the CDS Oncology system (through the AlignQI program).
- Help define the distribution partner strategy and ways to reach customers through multiple touchpoints.
New Product Adoption and Sales
- Lead the customer adoption and product sales activities for defined segments within the oncology market.
- Working with the SVP of Commercial Operations, establish annual customer adoption and sales plans for Proventys CDS Oncology, with clear goals, strategies and tactics to achieve results.
- Where appropriate, work closely with Proventys’ distribution and other partners to manage selling activities, defining clear responsibilities, establishing clear roles and expectations, and smooth communication processes.
- Help initiate and manage all beta sites and pilot programs for the Company.
- Utilize the Company’s contact management system and ensure effective interaction with the Provider and Payer Solutions teams on an ongoing basis.
- Facilitate the roll-out and execution of payer-sponsored programs and reimbursement arrangements involving Proventys client sites.
Team and Functional Development
- Working with the SVP of Commercial Operations, help create a high-performing. Provider Solutions team to serve as the primary customer acquisition and sales unit of the Company.
- Help define the overall goals and strategies for the group, as well as operating procedures, processes, tools, incentives and systems.
Help establish a high-performance and collaborative culture. - In the Sr. Director role, lead the creation of a national team, with Regional Directors positioned to serve key geographies. Manage and oversee the team and drive performance.
Continuous Product Improvement
- Maintain a clear understanding of clinician and oncology practice needs and share feedback with the Marketing and R&D teams.
- Identify opportunities for improvement where possible, and brainstorm with appropriate staff to improve products and services.
Essential Requirements
- Excellent communication and consultative selling skills
- Proven track record selling in oncology markets
- Exceptional customer relationship management skills
- Effective cross-functional collaboration skills; ability to work with constituents at all levels of an organization
- Experience in clinical systems implementations such as healthcare practice management systems or EMRs is highly preferred
- Experience playing a leadership role in continuous product improvement and interacting with R&D resources based on ongoing customer feedback
- BA/BS degree in related field required; advanced degree a plus
- The role is to be based at Proventys’ headquarters office in Newton, MA and requires travel nationally/regionally to oncology practices, conferences, and other locations approximately 30-50% of the time. Flexible telecommuting arrangements are possible.

Clinical Analyst - Oncology
Position Location: Newton, MA
Summary of Position
Reporting to the Director of Analytics, the Clinical Analyst for Oncology will have responsibility and ownership for specific disease areas in Proventys’ clinical decision support software, starting with the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Guidelines for oncology. The Clinical Analyst will parse, analyze, and organize these algorithmic Guidelines into a series of clinical rules for their specific disease areas, with ownership for the integrity of the content extending through the product to the end users (oncologists and their practices). Although no prior oncology experience is required, this analyst is expected to become expert in the designated disease areas through study and consultation with other members of the team (including oncologists and other clinicians).
Responsibilities
- Become expert in designated disease area(s) via intense self-study, consultations with other members of the Proventys team and practicing clinicians
- Using clinical practice guidelines and other designated sources, comprehensively structure and articulate the patient care process, from diagnosis to treatment to monitoring
- Present the structured patient care process to the Proventys Content team and external consultants, incorporate feedback, and iterate until consensus is reached
- Author the clinical content into a text-based tool, creating the underpinning for an interactive clinical decision support (CDS) system for oncologists
- Stay abreast of new developments in oncology and relevant technologies
- Support product development activities, ensuring the clinical inputs are current and relevant
- Work closely with both the Software Development and Commercial/Client Service teams as needed
Essential Requirements
- Strong analytical/logical thinker with a proven ability in problem solving, must have an elevated ability to learn medical terminology and translate that knowledge into a series of logic rules.
- Ability to internalize, utilize and draw conclusions from medical information including published literature and clinical data
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable with voicing opinions to more senior members of the team (including physicians and other oncology professionals).
- Bachelor’s degree in a physical science field, such as computer science, economics, engineering, mathematics and physics
- Heightened attention to detail
- Willingness and ability to accept and incorporate feedback from many sources simultaneously

- 1-3 years of work experience in a clinical or research setting
- Experience with oncology practice patterns, including treatment guidelines, workflow and/or protocols

Clinical Development Liaison
Position Location: Newton, MA
Summary of Position
Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Clinical Development Liaison for Oncology will support the development of and enhancements to the oncology suite of products, and will support key partnerships related to oncology (with clinical practices and other strategic partners). In executing these tasks, this role will closely partner with other members of the Clinical Development team and Software Engineering to ensure the clinical perspective (i.e., understanding clinical workflow issues, perspective of clinical end-users, clinical guidelines and potential impact on patient care) is appropriately represented within all stages of product development and implementation.
Specific Responsibilities
- Support product development activity related to the Proventys Oncology product suite
- Engage and collaborate with clinical advisors, SMEs and front-line oncology clinicians to understand unmet needs, workflow issues and market opportunities
- Maintain and build partnerships with oncology practices, driving use of Proventys’ solutions and serving as the primary clinical point of contact
- Stay abreast of the rapidly evolving oncology literature (especially related to personalized medicine) and communicate potentially relevant findings to the CMO and clinical team
- Create clinical requirements necessary to develop new products and enhance existing product portfolio
- Communicate key clinical concepts, both internally and externally, in support of the development and commercialization of company products
- Support Client Services in driving product adoption and utilization
Requirements include:
- Graduate degree in clinical field of study
- Detailed knowledge of oncology clinical practice patterns, clinical guidelines and workflow
- Clinical background and experience (preferably including some in oncology)
- Analytical ability necessary to examine, manipulate and draw conclusions from clinical data
- Ability to interpret and summarize medical literature

HL7 Integration Engineer
Position Location: Newton, MA
Summary of Position
Reporting to the Director, Product Design and Development, the Integration Engineer will work on an Agile/XP team that is responsible for the development of Proventys CDS Oncology™. The Proventys CDS Oncology™ platform automates clinical guidelines and other evidence-based tools in a dynamic fashion. Proventys is looking to hire an experienced HL7 Integration Engineer to support integrations of EHR and Practice Management systems with our clinical decision support platform.
Specific Responsibilities
- Communicate with customers and technical staff to implement, test, and support interfaces and infrastructure components
- Analyze and document customer requirements and business workflow for integration of disparate healthcare systems
- Develop Application APIs and infrastructure components
- Maintain and support existing interfaces and software
- Identify and resolve interface related issues in a timely manner
- Develop Core CDS application system terminology mapping
Requirements include:
- At least five years of systems development experience
- Experience in medical integration and standards, especially HL7
- Experience with interface/integration engine technologies (preferably Mirth)
- Excellent systems thinking and solution orientation
- At least four years of experience with Java
- Knowledege of relational database design and SQL, SQL scripting, and stored procedures
- Experience in Unix/Linux and proficiency in use of system tools such as grep, awk, and cron
