Director, Provider Solutions - Oncology

Position Location: Newton, MA

Summary of Position

The Director, Provider Solutions- Oncology plays a key commercialization role for the Company, driving new sales of Proventys’ PDx and CDS products for clinical practice clients in the medical oncology market. Reporting to the head of Commercial Operations for the Company, the Director will help create and execute an overall go-to-market and product sales plan for Proventys, and will be assigned specific regions and/or customer segments to manage. The Director will work closely with Marketing, Client Services and Payer Solutions teams at Proventys to understand the needs of oncology practices, serve them with products and services, and generate continuous customer feedback to for ongoing product improvement.

The Director should be an experienced sales professional with a proven track record in the oncology market. The Director should be a creative, self-starter who works well with teams and enjoys managing client relationships. (S)He should be extremely well organized and able to drive new business in a complex selling environment. Key metrics for the success of this position include new customer acquisition, product sales, speed of customer adoption, and overall customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Go-to-Market Strategy

  • In collaboration with members of the Commercialization Team, covering Marketing, Provider Solutions, Payer Solutions and Client Services, develop and execute a go-to-market plan for Proventys’ PDx and CDS products.
  • Understand and help define oncology market needs, customer segments and priorities, the Proventys product and service offering, sales goals, and selling strategies and tactics.
  • Manage an overall market geography and/or specific customer segments as defined by the Vice President of Provider Solutions.
  • Work closely with Marketing to develop product collateral, promotional programs, and other outreach initiatives to educate customers and engage them.
  • Help define the distribution partner strategy and ways to reach customers through multiple touchpoints.

New Product Adoption and Sales

  • Lead the customer adoption and product sales activities for defined segments within the oncology market.
  • Working with the Vice President of Provider Solutions, establish annual customer adoption and sales plans for PDx and CDS products, with clear goals, strategies and tactics to achieve results.
  • Where appropriate, work closely with Proventys distribution and other partners to manage selling activities, defining clear responsibilities, establishing clear roles and expectations, and smooth communication processes.
  • Help initiate and manage all beta sites and pilot programs for the Company.
  • Utilize the Company’s contact management system and ensure effective interaction with the Provider and Payer Solutions teams on an ongoing basis.
  • Facilitate the roll-out and execution of payer-sponsored programs and reimbursement arrangements involving Proventys client sites.

Team and Functional Development

  • Working with the Vice President of Provider Solutions, help create a high-performing. Provider Solutions team to serve as the primary customer acquisition and sales unit of the Company.
  • Help define the overall goals and strategies for the group, as well as operating procedures, processes, tools, incentives and systems.
  • Help establish a high-performance and collaborative culture.

Continuous Product Improvement

  • Maintain a clear understanding of clinician and oncology practice needs and share feedback with the Marketing and R&D teams.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement where possible, and brainstorm with appropriate staff to improve products and services.

Director, Payer Reimbursement & Contracting

Position Location: Newton, MA

Summary of Position

The Director of Payer Reimbursement & Contracting will help lead the development and execution of the Company’s reimbursement strategy for its portfolio of software-based predictive tests (PDx) as well as help define payer-sponsored programs for its clinical decision support (CDS) products and services in oncology, cardiology and other areas. Reporting to and working closely with the head of Commercial Operations, the Director will help manage interactions and relationships with payers to help drive the adoption of products and revenue growth for the business. The Director will be a key member of the broader Commercialization team and will interface actively with Marketing/Product Management, Provider Solutions and Client Services functions, as well as business partners and outside payer consultants. In addition, the Director will collaborate closely with members of the Clinical Development team focused on developing PDx and CDS products.

The Director should be a creative and analytical thinker with significant experience designing and executing payer strategies for reimbursable products. The Director should be a self-starter and over time will help build the overall Payer Reimbursement & Contracting function and manage staff covering managed care markets, billing and reimbursement, etc. Key metrics for the success of this position include establishing attractive payer contracts and reimbursement mechanisms for Proventys products and services, overall payer coverage, product adoption and utilization, and revenues.

Responsibilities

Reimbursement Strategy and Execution for PDx Products

  • Help develop, execute and manage the payer reimbursement strategy for the Company’s novel, software-based predictive tests addressing specific conditions and clinical decisions in oncology, cardiology and other areas
  • Working with external expert consultants and leveraging existing analysis and progress, define and implement the coverage, coding and payment strategy and operational plan to achieve broad-based, scalable reimbursement
  • With appropriate input and expert counsel, consider the operational implications of all strategies and determine the administrative paths to capture reimbursement, including legal and regulatory hurdles and requirements
  • With direction from and collaboration with the head of commercial operations, help define and manage reimbursement goals and objectives for successful product launch and early adoption within the context of the Company’s go-to-market strategy and plan for the PDx Oncology products (with anticipated launch in Q4 2010)
  • Work with internal and external resources to secure reimbursement contracts and establish specific processes for billing and revenue capture
  • Help lead strategies and ongoing collaboration with Proventys distribution partners for the oncology and cardiology markets. Help define key responsibilities for payer engagement, contracting and billing
  • Create materials, payer dossiers and other offerings to support payer engagement strategies and activities
  • Work closely with Proventys’ Provider Solutions team and Marketing resources to coordinate key commercialization efforts that are linked together

Payer Support for CDS Products and Services

  • Along with other team members, help develop, execute and manage the payer support and sponsorship strategy for the Company’s evidence-based clinical decision support (CDS) products and services, starting in oncology through a collaboration with the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN).
  • Working with external expert consultants and leveraging existing analysis and progress, help define and implement the overall service offering for payers. Consider care management, P4P, and quality program models to establish an applicable construct for Proventys CDS
  • With appropriate input and expert counsel, consider the operational implications of all strategies and determine the administrative paths to capture payer support, including legal and regulatory hurdles and requirements
  • Help execute strategies and ongoing collaboration with NCCN and Proventys distribution partners for the oncology and cardiology markets. Help define key responsibilities for payer engagement, contracting and billing

Capability and Team Development

  • Create an overall vision and operational plan for the Payer Reimbursement & Contracting function including required capabilities and resources necessary to succeed
  • Help propose overall department budgets and recommend all activities and initiatives to successfully execute strategies including the use of reimbursement consultants,
  • market research and payer roundtables, etc.
  • Help manage content on the Proventys website geared toward informing payers about the Company’s PDx and CDS products
  • Help define conference and PR strategies for the company to support payer engagement activities

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-10 years serving in a payer strategies and reimbursement function for a healthcare technology, life sciences company or relevant consulting firm required
  • Success securing favorable coverage and coding for a new product
  • Success negotiating and closing payer contracts
  • Familiarity and comfort with clinical-economic information and study data to help build and make the value proposition and case for reimbursement and overall payer support
  • Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; ability to work with constituents at all levels of an organization

Director, Oncology Marketing

Responsibilities

Oncology Marketing Strategy and Execution

  • Create a systematic approach to understand oncology practice needs in relation to Proventys offerings, and define specific segments for the Company to serve
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market strategy and plan for the Company’s PDx and CDS Oncology products (with anticipated launch in Q4 2010)
  • With direction from and collaboration with the Vice President, define and manage product goals and objectives and for successful product launch and early adoption
  • Leveraging existing work and preliminary plans, define key marketing strategies to achieve product goals. Propose overall marketing budgets and recommend all marketing mix elements including online and traditional promotional initiatives, sales force support, conference marketing, PR, and other components

  • Oversee the FDA-regulated Marketing & Labeling system for the Company

Oncology P&L Management

Corporate Marketing

Clinical Development Liaison

Position Location: Newton, MA

Summary of Position

Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Clinical Development Liaison for Oncology will support the development of and enhancements to the oncology suite of products, and will support key partnerships related to oncology (with clinical practices and other strategic partners). In executing these tasks, this role will closely partner with other members of the Clinical Development team and Software Engineering to ensure the clinical perspective (i.e., understanding clinical workflow issues, perspective of clinical end-users, clinical guidelines and potential impact on patient care) is appropriately represented within all stages of product development and implementation.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Support product development activity related to the Proventys Oncology product suite
  • Engage and collaborate with clinical advisors, SMEs and front-line oncology clinicians to understand unmet needs, workflow issues and market opportunities
  • Maintain and build partnerships with oncology practices, driving use of Proventys’ solutions and serving as the primary clinical point of contact
  • Stay abreast of the rapidly evolving oncology literature (especially related to personalized medicine) and communicate potentially relevant findings to the CMO and clinical team
  • Create clinical requirements necessary to develop new products and enhance existing product portfolio
  • Communicate key clinical concepts, both internally and externally, in support of the development and commercialization of company products
  • Support Client Services in driving product adoption and utilization

Requirements include:

  • Graduate degree in clinical field of study
  • Detailed knowledge of oncology clinical practice patterns, clinical guidelines and workflow
  • Clinical background and experience (preferably including some in oncology)
  • Analytical ability necessary to examine, manipulate and draw conclusions from clinical data

    Client Services Manager

    Position Location: Newton, MA

    Summary of Position

    The Client Services Manager is one of the key commercialization roles of the Company, leading the deployment, utilization and support of Proventys’ PDx and CDS products for clinical practice clients. Reporting to the head of Commercial Operations activities for the Company, the Manager will create, build and manage a function that must maximize the effectiveness of product roll-out and delivery, the ongoing satisfaction of clients, and the appropriate use of Proventys products including linkages to payer-sponsored programs. The Client Services Manager will also play a key role in capturing the “voice of the customer” and feeding back to the product development function of the organization for continuous improvement. The Manager will also be responsible for the creation and implementation of all client-facing Quality Systems Regulation requirements associated with Proventys’ FDA-regulated PDx products. These requirements include deploying product training and support programs and capturing all client inquiries, complaints, and adverse events, while managing a clear resolution process from start to finish.

    The Manager should be a strong, creative and analytical thinker who enjoys managing client relationships. (S)He should be extremely well organized with proven field-based product delivery and client management and skills. Key metrics for the success of this position include client initiation speed, customer satisfaction, product utilization and complaint handling effectiveness.

    Responsibilities

    Client Initiation & Product Delivery

    • Develop and execute full client initiation processes for the Company in coordination with the Provider Solutions team (“Sales”), including site information gathering, product orientation, product packaging, workflow integration and optimization, and product deployment and training activities
    • Where appropriate, work closely with Proventys distribution partners to execute all client initiation and product delivery responsibilities, establishing clear roles and expectations, and smooth communication processes
    • Help initiate and manage all beta sites and pilot programs for the Company
    • Work with Marketing to create and distribute relevant product collateral and training materials

    Client Management and Product Utilization

    • Create a high-performing team to serve as the primary ongoing client interface for the Company
    • Create efficient ways to communicate with client sites on a regular basis, through web, phone and face-to-face methods

    • Interact with Clinical Development and Software Engineering teams to triage all client questions and resolve complaints and inquiries

    Product Improvement
