disease inflection curve

As first described by Dr. Ralph Snyderman in 2003, the disease inflection curve is central to our philosophy at Proventys.

personalized medicine

The promise and hope of personalized medicine present unlimited opportunities for transforming the way healthcare is practiced and delivered.  Picture the day when physicians routinely are able to prescribe the right treatment for the right patient at the right time. Serious adverse events and complications are reduced to a minimum, therapies are matched to patients that are most likely to respond positively, and guesswork is largely eliminated.  The improvement in healthcare quality and decline in cost could be dramatic.

As the President’s Council on Advisors on Science and Technology stated in their 2008 report on Personalized Medicine:

"The current high level of interest in personalized medicine from a policy perspective is attributable not only to the promise of improved patient care and disease prevention, but also to the potential for personalized medicine to positively impact two other important trends – the increasing cost of health care and the decreasing rate of new medical product development. The ability to distinguish in advance those patients who will benefit from a given treatment and those who are likely to suffer important adverse effects could result in meaningful cost savings for the overall health care system. Moreover, the ability to stratify patients by disease susceptibility or likely response to treatment could also reduce the size, duration, and cost of clinical trials, thus facilitating the development of new treatments, diagnostics, and prevention strategies."

The Focus of Proventys

Proventys was founded with a vision of making personalized medicine a true reality within the everyday delivery of care to patients.  We believe healthcare can be practiced in a predictive and personalized manner, where specific patient characteristics, including clinical factors, genomics, metabolomics and other bio-information are taken into account to quantify individualized risk and understand the likelihood of potential outcomes.  By applying cutting-edge, web-based technologies and utilizing risk assessment methodologies, we are developing advanced decision support to help physicians make more optimal treatment decisions that lead to better results for patients.

It is our mission to embrace the principles of personalized medicine and help realize its full potential by:

  • Targeting areas with greatest potential impact on clinical and economic outcomes
  • Empowering physicians with technology that is integrated within the clinical workflow
  • Accessing the best data sources and models to power point-of-care solutions
  • Applying practical, predictive tools that help physicians make optimal treatment decisions individualized to the patient
  • Ensuring the reliability of new innovations through rigorous validation
Supporting value-based reimbursement models that will facilitate appropriate adoption
